The ninth Carnival of Mathematics is up over at JD2718, including a couple of posts by yours truly. Posts which I think may be of particular interest to readers of TMLT include:
- Investigating an Algebra II/SAT problem in a bit of depth…
- Some discussion of the Prisoner’s Dilemma…
- and The Wason Selection task.
But there’s lots of other interesting stuff to be found as well.
I don’t recall learning about geometric and harmonic means. Good to know, tho I was able to figure out the wrongness with another method.
Actually, it’s Wason, not Watson. And might I add that the problem is… elementary. 🙂
Heads up: Today’s Pascal’s bday, as alerted to me by Webster: http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/wftwarch.pl?061907
